IfPC Demonstration Farm – Marsabit’s Model of Agricultural Excellence

Hidden in the heart of Saku Sub-County, Marsabit County, just 4 kilometers off the Moyale-Marsabit Road in Sagante-Jaldesa Ward, lies a gem that is changing the way our community thinks about farming - the Initiatives for Progressive Change (IfPC) Demonstration Farm.

This is not just any farm. It is a living example of how innovation, dedication, and community-driven development can turn potential into prosperity.

Here, fertile soil meets modern farming practices, creating a hub of productivity and learning for farmers, partners, and the wider community.

🍅 A Farm that Produces in Abundance

Walking through the farm, you are met with an impressive variety of crops - each telling its own story of care and commitment. Rows of healthy tomatoes glisten under the sun, potatoes thrive in well-prepared ridges, and watermelons sprawl across the land, promising sweetness with every bite.

The farm is also home to lush banana groves, ripe pawpaw, maize, and many other seasonal vegetables and fruits. Every corner of the farm reflects hard work and the right blend of traditional and modern farming methods.

💧 Water Security at the Core

One of the farm’s greatest strengths is its reliable water supply. Thanks to strategically designed artificial water storage systems - including lined ponds and large-capacity tanks - water is always available to meet the farm’s needs. This ensures year-round production, regardless of seasonal changes.

The region’s comfortable, farm-friendly weather further boosts productivity, creating the perfect conditions for crops to flourish naturally.

🌍 A Model for Learning and Partnerships

The IfPC Demonstration Farm is more than a place where crops grow - it’s where ideas take root. It serves as:

  • A learning center for local farmers who wish to adopt better practices.
  • A proof of concept for sustainable farming in semi-arid regions.
  • A partnership platform for NGOs, government agencies, and private sector players looking to scale agricultural development.

By showcasing how resourcefulness, water management, and community engagement can transform agriculture, the farm invites others to join hands in advancing food security and livelihoods.

🤝 An Open Invitation

We believe agriculture is a team effort – and the success of this farm is proof of what’s possible when communities, development partners, and innovators work together. Whether you are:
